19 October 2024

Yesterday in Vienna, the anniversary of the «Golden Violins of Odesa» festival was celebrated.

This significant event brought together talented musicians on the stage of the Austrian capital, highlighting Odesa's rich cultural heritage.

The festival was initiated by Ihor Pokrovskyi ten years ago and has since become an integral part of Odesa's cultural life. The «Golden Violins» carry on the legacy of the renowned pedagogue Petro Stolyarsky, who nurtured many brilliant musicians.

«This concert in Vienna is our gesture of gratitude for the support of Odesa and Ukraine during these challenging times. We thank Austria for its solidarity, and it is a great honor for us to present Odesa's culture at such a high level. Odesa has always been the cultural capital of Ukraine, and we are doing our utmost to preserve its unique creative heritage for future generations,» said Odesa's Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov at the festival's opening.

The festival continues to strengthen the cultural ties between Odesa and Vienna, offering new musical talents and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Ukrainian city.
