New Year Preparations in Odesa
In Odesa, preparations for the New Year celebrations are in full swing. Recently, the installation of the city’s main Christmas tree has begun on Deribasivska Street.
The height of this tree will be 20 meters, with a width of 9. As per tradition, the top will be adorned with a Christmas star. This year, the main tree will showcase elements of traditional Ukrainian ornamentation along with blue and yellow ribbons.
The ceremonial opening is scheduled for December 6, coinciding with St. Nicholas Day.
«On St. Nicholas Day, the main Christmas tree will be inaugurated in Odesa, accompanied by a festive concert organized by the Department of Culture and International Cooperation. Guests will enjoy a concert by the Odesa Municipal Brass Band and performances by talented children from local creative institutions. Additional festive events will take place at various municipal venues, including the zoo,» noted Ivan Liptuga, the director of the Department of Culture.
Due to the martial law and curfew, mass street celebrations on New Year’s Eve are not planned.
