At the age of 76, Sergey Ilyin, a renowned artist from Odessa and a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, passed away unexpectedly. His contributions to art and cultural life in Odessa are invaluable.

Born on April 30, 1949, Sergey graduated from the Odessa Art School and the university. He spent many years working at the museum, promoting art and mentoring young talents.

Not only was Sergey Ilyin an artist, but he was also an art critic, allowing him to have a deeper understanding of the works of other artists. He was actively involved in organizing exhibitions and expanding opportunities for new talents.

Since 1996, he also led a film lecture series, merging the worlds of painting and cinema. He participated in numerous international exhibitions, showcasing his work in many European cities.

Sergey Ilyin is remembered for his kindness and intellect, earning the respect of colleagues and friends. The Odessa City Council expresses its condolences to his family and loved ones.
