Christmas Choir Festival in Odesa
On December 20, 2024, the V Christmas Choir Festival 'Fire of Christmas' was inaugurated at the Golden Hall of the Odesa Literary Museum, organized by the T. I. Boieva Art School No. 15 of Odesa.
The Director of the Department of Culture, International Cooperation, and European Integration of the Odesa City Council, Ivan Liptuga, extended his greetings to the participants, wishing them continued success in celebrating Odesa through their talents.
With enchanting Christmas musical pieces, choirs from art schools of Odesa and musical institutions of the Odesa region performed, leaving the audience with unforgettable impressions.
The festival also included a scientific and methodological conference titled 'Christmas Songs in Contemporary Choral Music'.
At the conference, discussions revolved around the development of Ukrainian folk singing and innovations in working with choirs within Ukraine's music education system.
The second day of the festival, December 23, 2024, will be dedicated to remote performances by various groups. This year, choirs and ensembles from several large and small cities in Ukraine, including Odesa, Chornomorsk, Kryvyi Rih, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, and Stryzhavka, are participating, with support from groups from Norway and Moldova.
