Collecting Conference in Odessa
On December 23, 2024, the gallery «#ARTODESSA» at the Summer Theater of the City Garden hosted a significant conference focused on the theme of collecting in Odessa.
The event gathered collectors, cultural experts, and local historians from the city.
The primary aim of the conference was to revive the activity of the collectors' community aimed at preserving Ukraine's cultural and historical heritage.
Participants discussed issues surrounding the preservation of private collections, their exhibition, and cataloging. The importance of scientific research in this sector was also emphasized.
Among the speakers were: Ivan Liptuga, Felix Kohrikht, Semen Kantor, Anna Golubovska, Taras Maksimyuk, Alexander Friedman, Sergey Sedyh, Dmitry Khamula, Denis Mitskevich, Alexander Surilov, Yulia Gurynenko, and Ekaterina Pimenova.
As a result of the conference, a publication titled «Universe Named Odessa» on collecting is being prepared.
The conference was organized by the Department of Culture, International Cooperation, and European Integration of the Odessa City Council.
