Avatar: Fire and Ash Surpasses $1 Billion at the Box Office
The box office earnings of the third film in the franchise «Avatar: Fire and Ash» (Avatar: Fire and Ash) directed by James Cameron have exceeded $1 billion in just 18 days of global release. This was reported by Variety.
The film has grossed a total of $1.083 billion in theaters, with $306 million coming from North America and $777.1 million from the rest of the world.
It is noted that the third installment of the «Avatar» franchise reached the billion-dollar mark slightly slower than its predecessor.
For instance, «Avatar: The Way of Water» (Avatar: The Way of Water) from 2022 joined the billion-dollar club after just 14 days of release.
The first film, «Avatar» from 2009, took 17 days to reach this milestone.
Now, the question remains whether «Avatar: Fire and Ash» can maintain its box office momentum to surpass $2 billion worldwide.
Achieving this figure will largely depend on the international audience, which was key in helping the first two films reach such incredible heights.
The first «Avatar» earned $2.1 billion outside of North America, while the sequel brought in $1.65 billion in international markets.
The third film of the franchise «Avatar: Fire and Ash» (Avatar: Fire and Ash) grossed $450 million in its first week of release.
