Fanny Lechevalier's Exhibition: Art Reflecting War Reality
An exhibition featuring the works of French artist Fanny Lechevalier titled «In Memoriam. Reality Through Art» has opened in Odessa.
The exhibition will be held at the Museum of Contemporary Art until June 17.
This showcase represents a visual dialogue between the past and present, merging classical European art with the grim realities of war in Ukraine.
Fanny employs photomontage techniques, layering images from war correspondents onto famous works of classical Western painting.
The result is striking images that compel viewers to reevaluate the tragedies unfolding at the borders of Europe.
A key goal of the project is to raise funds for establishing a rehabilitation hub where patients will undergo educational and psychological recovery.
At the exhibition's opening, Odessa's Deputy Mayor Pavlo Vugelman emphasized that everyone has their own front in this war.
«Ms. Lechevalier, through her art, enables people around the world to feel the profound sorrow occurring on our land,» said Vugelman.

The exhibition is organized by the Solidarity charity fund, which focuses on rebuilding Ukraine and providing comprehensive support to those affected by the war.
Chairman of the Solidarity fund, Matthieu-Marie Arden, stressed, «Odessa is a significant location on Ukraine's cultural map, a city with a remarkable cultural heritage. For us, it is extremely valuable to present an exhibition here that symbolizes European solidarity with Ukraine, as we aim not only to support those affected by the war but also to foster cultural diplomacy. This initiative is implemented in Ukraine with the support of Dovgyi Family Office, in Odessa with the backing of the Odessa City Council, the Embassy of France in Ukraine, the French Institute in Ukraine, the Alliance Française of Odessa, and the company "Megabud".
After Odessa, the project «In Memoriam. Reality Through Art» will be displayed in Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Lviv. The exhibition previously took place in Kyiv.
